S.T.A.R Puppy Class
Due to the demand, all S.T.A.R puppy classes should be paid for in advance to secure your spot.

We try to limit the class size to 8 puppies in the class. We will keep a waiting list.

Puppy classes are essential for young dogs, focusing on teaching basic obedience, socialization, and good manners in a supportive environment. These classes help puppies develop important skills while ensuring a positive experience for both the dogs and their owners.
An AKC S.T.A.R. puppy assessment will be given at the end each 6 week session to those who meet the requirements from the AKC.
Fun on the lowered and mini-agility equipment is included along with basic manners and socialization

A basic obedience class typically focuses on teaching essential commands such as sit, stay, come, and down, while also addressing common behavior issues like jumping, barking, and leash pulling. These classes often use positive reinforcement techniques to help build a strong bond between the dog and owner. Small agility equipment will also be introduced to build confidence.
AKC Canine Good Citizen Testing will be offered periodically

RALLY OBEDIENCE CLASSES-Monday

All levels of Rally classes are combined for a short session during summer. Regular classes will resume on September 14, the week after Labor day.
Classes will be at 5:00 on July 27, August 10 and August 31.
AGILITY CLASSES:
Advanced Beginner/Intermediate Agility Monday Mornings

Ramona Cartwright is a very accomplished in agility training and competition. We feel very fortunate to have her here at Canine Sports. Agility classes for the dogs who have been introduced to all of the equipment. Sequences will be put together. Dogs should have a good recall as they will be working the course off leash.
Intermediate/Advanced Agility Monday Mornings

This agility class is for those dogs who are currently showing. This class is tailored to the dogs in the class. We work on what they need and have not been successful at along with new skills to use in trials. Dogs must be familiar with the contacts (not doing weaves is okay) and good around other dogs.

Pre requisite – Pre agility or instructor approval. Focus of this class will be running sequences and courses in preparation of running trials. Also refining skills if a student is already running agility.
Competition Obedience Classes


Open and Utility Skills Wed. Afternoon

Skills taught will include all skills necessary to compete in Open and Utility competition. Skills include, attention, on/off lead heeling, recalls, drop on recall, command discrimination, flat retrieve, retrieve over the high jump, broad jump and stand stay get your leash, as well as all utility exercises.
Beginner Novice/Novice Wednesday Late Afternoon

Skills taught will be directly related to those skills needed in the Novice obedience ring. Body awareness, confidence building and attention work. Skills taught include on and off leash heeling, figure 8, stand for exam, recall, sit and down stays, intro to retrieving, ring preparation and proofing. Open skills will also be introduced
Utility Competition Obedience Thurs. Late Afternoon

Instructor permission is needed
Skills taught for Utility include signal exercise, go outs, directed jumping, moving stand, scent articles and gloves. Along with plenty of attention work and proofing.

Christy and her late competitive dog, Beau-D, had consistently been in the top obedience rankings, competing in the 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 AKC National Obedience Championships. Christy placed 10th at the AKC National Obedience Championship (March 2015) and 11th at the 2016 NOC. She has Four OTCH/UDX dogs and multiple High In Trial/High Combined and currently has earned 4 perfect 200 scores. She can help you through training issues and help polish you and your dog for the obedience ring. Christy’s favorite things is problem solving and helping others to be successful. She is a Retired Elementary teacher.
HOUSEHOLD/PUPPY OBEDIENCE LESSONS AVAILABLE
If you want more individualized instruction with your new puppy or household training, private lessons may be the answer.
Instructor: Karen Phillips $60 an hour
No aggressive dog issues please-these will be referred.
Karen has extensive experience in assisting with pet and puppy issues.
Karen is also available for private Agility, Rally and Tracking lessons.

Canine Sports Prices and Discounts:
Classes: Cost for 1 hour class is $120 for the
6 week session (one dog); $105 for the second dog or class in the same session**
(**only applies when both classes are the full price and 6 weeks in length)
45 minute classes are $95 no second dog discount
Drop in fees are $25 per class and at the discretion of the instructor
Building Rental starts at $25 per hour
