Pet and Puppy Classes

   

Basic Obedience / Canine Good Citizenship (CGC):
Improve communication with your dog. Learn leash respect, sit, down, come and stay. Improve response time to commands. Complete the CGC program and test.

Basic Plus Obedience:
This class reinforces basic cues/commands by adding distractions and duration. Also introduces your dog to rally and agility.

Puppy / S.T.A.R. Puppy:

Focus on socialization with other dogs  and people. Covers common puppy behaviors. Learn basic commands (sit, down, come and stay). For dogs under one year old. Complete the AKC S.T.A.R. program and test.  

Please note: Shot records are required for the S.T.A.R. Puppy program. Please bring them on the first night of class.

       Agility


 
Competitive Obedience

Pre-Agility:

Familiarization for dogs who have never been on the agility equipment. Help with start lines, waits, releases and recalls.

 

Beginners:
An introduction to agility equipment and basic ground work. Dogs must know basic commands (come, sit, stay, down).

 

Advanced Beginners:
Simple handling moves and short course sequences .

Intermediate:
Handling moves with longer course sequences. Beginning competitors. Dogs must be comfortable on all full height equipment.

 
 
Advanced:
Fine-tuning handling skills, timing and strategies. Serious competitors.
 
 

 

Novice:

For those dogs not quite ready to compete. Focus on basic skills including recall, heeling, stays, fronts and finishes. An introduction to competing in obedience.

Advanced Novice:
Designed to help students and their dogs compete. More intense focus on basic skills including recall, heeling, stays, fronts and finishes. Practice with competition exercises to get you and your dog ready for the ring.

 

Open:
Teach students various exercises needed to complete their CDX.

 

Utility:
Teach students the skills necessary to show for their UD.
